The PADI Rescue Diver course will teach you how to assist and rescue divers that are experiencing difficulties as well as become a more aware dive buddy.

It is not only extremely helpful in learning how to gauge stress levels in other divers but also in you.

The course consists of a combination of theory and pool training, then putting your skills to practice in the sea. The final day will include some rescue scenarios where you can put all of your newly acquired skills into practice.

This course does not include gear hire. $100 hire fee covers gear for the duration of the course.

*Please note that a current first aid certificate is required for certification as a PADI Rescue Diver. Please contact us for first aid course availability.

Prerequisites:

Be 15 years or older
PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent certification
Medical Statement filled out
Be trained and current for First Aid and CPR within the previous two years (This can be run alongside the Rescue Diver Course if required. Click here for more information about First Aid training)

To help you get the best deal out of your course we have created various options for you:

1. If you have all of your own equipment* the BASIC PACKAGE is for you.

2. If you have some of your own equipment*, but not everything, choose the BASIC PACKAGE and contact us for a price on the equipment you do need to hire.

3. If you have no equipment at all, choose the COMPLETE PACKAGE.

4. If you just want to pay the deposit for the course to secure your place, choose START NOW. You can sort out your equipment requirements closer to your chosen course start date.

*Please note that if you have some or all of your own equipment, it needs to be appropriate for the local diving environment and in a safe condition to use on the course. Dive Wellington reserves the right to inspect and test your equipment prior to the course starting, and has sole discretion on whether it can be used on the course. You can start your course right away when you purchase "Start NOW". You will be sent an eLearning code, a link to the eLearning web page, and instructions on how to access the online theory content.

In order to complete the course, you will still need to finish any remaining training elements, including medical forms, pool and sea training, if included. You will need to pay for the remainder of the course before your in water training commences.

First - purchase your course online. Next, we'll get in contact and give you dates, and your course information pack. This pack includes all the course details, online training information (if applicable), medical forms, etc.

On the medical form, you will need to answer a few questions. Please read the form carefully before filling it out.
If you answer YES to ANY of the questions, please follow the instructions on the form. You may be required to gain clearance from your doctor before we can take you diving.
If the answers are all NO, you don't need to see a doctor. Please get in touch if you have any questions. You can find the form here.
