WORKPLACE FIRST AID (LEVEL 1)
This is the most popular industry / community based first aid program covering Basic Life Support and First Aid practices. Course content and delivery follows the Worksafe NZ good practice guide for first aid in the workplace, and covers NZQA unit standards 6402 & 6401. Course durations can vary between 8-10 hours.
Topics Covered include:
- The First Aid Provider - Personal safety & contacting Emergency Medical Services
- Basic CPR Skills and Basic Life Support Care - Stable side positioning of patient, choking, patient assessment
- Sudden cardiac arrest and AED Use
- Caring for serious injury - Bleeding, shock management, soft-tissue injuries, and wounds
- Burns & poisoning
- Caring for sudden illness - Stroke, diabetic emergencies and seizures
- Breathing difficulties and asthma, severe allergic reactions and chest pain
COMPREHENSIVE FIRST AID (LEVEL 2)
The Comprehensive First Aid course covers everything that the Workplace & Pediatric course covers and more. Great for those with high risk workplaces that require a more practical scenario-based first aid approach.

- Meets Ministry of Education guidelines for early childcare education.
- This course is assessed to unit standards 6401, 6402 and 6400.
- Course duration is typically around 12 hours.
