How does it work?

You need to pass the Instructor Development Course IDC before you can sit the Instructor Exams IE. The IDC is run here at Dive Wellington by our Course Directors and Staff Instructors. We start with a course orientation, so that you know exactly what you can expect. You are then given e learning to complete in your own time.

During the course, you will give instructor presentations in the classroom, the pool and the ocean teaching from a variety of courses. You do theory exams and Padi standards exams.  There are also plenty of workshops in the class and the ocean. The IDC takes approximately 12 full days. We also complete the First Aid Instructor course as a prerequisite for the IE. 

The IE is run by Padi staff. Over two days you are tested you on similar presentations and exams that you have done throughout the IDC. You need to pass the IE to become a Padi Dive Instructor. The IE is held in Wellington twice each year, typically in April and October.
