Our Diploma qualifications take you from entry level diving, (with no previous experience required), through advanced diving, specialty diving, then onto dive supervision and leadership skills including advanced instructional and specialty instructional levels. Up to 100 dives are included and as a graduate you will emerge a competent and confident diver and instructor.
44 weeks full-time study with 6 weeks break
At least 100 dives
Graduate as a Specialty Instructor with five specialty ratings
Course is NZQA approved for student loans, allowances and free fees if eligible
Includes boat dives and practical trips around New Zealand to try different types of diving

Class numbers are limited to ensure individual attention and to help create a positive team environment. Many valuable long-term friendships are made during this course. Graduates are registered internationally and are immediately able to apply their knowledge and skills in the dive industry, both here and overseas.
Due to the ongoing risk of COVID 19, to ensure our safety and yours, we have changed things around a little here at Dive Wellington.
Anyone partaking on a course, hiring dive gear, or going on a charter/trip MUST have a vaccination pass.
Visitors to the store must sign in on entry. QR code on the door, or manual sign-in sheet in the center of the store.
Customers must wear a face-covering inside at all times, and keep a 2m distance between other customers and staff where possible.
If travelling for a course/dive club, we will have very limited transport in the Dive Wellington van, but we recommend taking your own private vehicle to the site.
Masks, snorkels and regulators will be soaked in disinfectant after each use to avoid transmission.
As always, if you are unwell or have cold/flu-like symptoms, please stay home and get tested.
