Dive News: Thu 25 May 2017

Hi Divers

The neverending theme seems to be southerly swell on the South Coast. This week we had some massive waves on the coast with a 19.4 meter wave recorded in the Southern Ocean. The water temp is around 12 degrees at the moment, but that didin't stop our Diploma students Tess and Rhy celebrating their 100th dive, with a naked dive in Kau Bay. Best of luck to Chris, Tess, Rhy, Quazar and Richard who sit their instructor exams this weekend, you guys will nail this.

Hi Divers

The southerlies are back again. I can't remember a worse year for diveable days on the South Coast. In saying that, we are still crazy busy teaching divers.

Dive News: Fri 12 May 2017

Hey Divers

Sorry for the late newsletter this week, we have been swamped with loads going on.

The weather still hasn't been ideal but we have managed a few good days of diving on the South Coast. This weekend doesn't look much better with southerlies all weekend.

Dive News: Thu 27 Apr 2017

Hi Divers

Our clean up at Oriental bay was a great sucess last Saturday. Thanks to everyone who helped out on shore and underwater, check out the video on our facebook page.

Congratulations to Michael, Martin, Nelson, Donnacha and Ruth on completing their Dive against Debri specialty course as part of the clean up dive.

Also congratulations to Luke and Sylvan on completing their advanced open water course, and to Catherine Jones on completing her rescue course and first aid course.

Dive News: Thu 20 Apr 2017

Hi Divers

It looks like we are going to get a fine weekend with the sun out all weekend, a nice change from last week. The swell from todays southelry will hang around the South Coast but West Coast and the harbour should be good for diving.

The terrible weather this season has meant we are playing catch up with finishing courses, especially for advanced open water. Hopefully May brings more settled weather. Sorry guys, as soon as we get some settled days, we will get you out there.

Dive News: Thu 13 Apr 2017

Hi Divers

We have a group of divers heading North to dive Northland this weekend, fingers crossed with the weather, hopefully it has blown over by Saturday.

The outlook isn't much better here with gusty winds and rain. Our boat charters are off for the weekend but we will still be having dive club dives, meeting at the shop at 9.30am Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Dive News: Thu 06 Apr 2017

Hi Divers

With all the rain we have had over the last few days, there will be no diving for a while. Hopefully it clears a bit by the weekend. We have still managed to keep busy, teaching 40 school students to dive in the pool this week..

Thank you to everyone who helped out last weekend with our annual spearfishing competition and charity fish auction. We had 50 entries in the competition, which makes it one of the largest comps in the Country.
